The Sky Below

God is the ultimate artist

and we’re simply spitting in the dust and remodeling His genius

to resurrect His inspiration

is like quoting the Koran in Chinese.

And at the bottom of everything

is the start of something

simply depends on which way you’re digging.

And this will make sense tomorrow

when we hit China and we’re looking up

at the sky below us.

i got jeremy lin on my mind.
this poem defies all nay sayer and quitter moments
    that we probably all suffer.
puts that gloom and doom out with the trash
and if that doesn’t muzzle it, well this poem oughta do the trick.
“when we hit China and weโ€™re looking up
    at the sky below us”
    fantastic.

Jeremy Lin is the best story in the NBA since Spudd Webb winning the slam dunk in ’86. Both men could fly long after coaches, scouts and experts had told them they couldn’t.

I always used to wonder about this in elementary school science classes, Peter? What if I stood on my head? See how easy it is to turn “up” into “down” and viceversa? I love this one, Peter. Very refreshing!

Rose! It’s all perspective, isn’t it? I didn’t have such profound thoughts in science classes. I was too busy trying to look like I knew what the hell was going on to let my mind drift to such dimensions.
