The Morning After Love

The aftertaste of you fades away

without you every day

gets easier to say I never loved you.

It’s a lie

I know no other way

to grow up

to drink from the sky

to stop my crying

it’s better lying.

Split by the great big sea

never to see

I used to drown in your eyes.

Though drowning means asphyxiation

I used to use it as a demonstration

of drunken love.

Now I only feel hung over

not intoxication.
